Dawnstar is from Starhaven, a planet colonized by members of the Native American Anasazi tribe, who were relocated from Earth after being kidnapped by an alien race for reasons unknown during the 13th century. The inhabitants had all been genetically engineered to have wings and superluminal flight. Dawnstar has extremely high-level skills at interstellar tracking, which makes her an invaluable asset to the Legion of Super-Heroes.
