Drake Burroughs of Earth

Wildfire's original name was Drake Burroughs when he was a 30th century Earth astro-engineer, and he became Wildfire through an accident which surrounded his matter body in anti-energy, destroying it. This left his remaining self in an anti-energy form. His colleagues designed a containment suit, so Drake would be able to maintain a humanoid appearance, and he adopted the name ERG-1, which stands for Energy Release Generator 1, to better suit his new being. Once he had his form under control, ERG-1 applied to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, but as they already had members with all of his powers, he was rejected. Only later, when he was able to help the Legion out of a bind, was he admitted as a member.
