A member of the scientific think-tank, A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), Count Bornag Royale was initially introduced to give the credibility of European aristocracy to the group and discredit S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury to his superiors. His status gained him an invitation to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier, where he presented a proposal to make U.S. cities bombproof. He has tried unsuccessfully to assassinate Nick Fury numerous times.
