Laurel is an unregistered AI which stays hidden in Evan Calhoun's quarters so he can work on repairing it. It has internal corrosion requiring replacement parts which are difficult to come by in their world. Evan and Laurel travel into the dead Gigā to find parts he can use to repair it.
