For all she knew, Rebecca Carstairs believed herself to be a young woman who, talented at performing stage magic, called herself Witchfire and went on to become a successful singer, actress and model. During her membership with the Power Company in San Francisco she discovered she was a homunculus, a magically-created being, and not the real Rachel Carstairs, of whom little, if anything, is known.
