Jerry McGee, husband of Tina McGee, is a scientist who excelled in his knowledge of super-speed and the drug Steroid B-19. Working on making athletes with metahuman abilities, he tried the drug on himself and his personality changed and he became obsessed with his work, breaking into fits of rage at work and at home, such that he became known as 'Speed Demon'. Tina finally separated from him and had an affair with Wally West. Eventually after many trials and tribulations he managed to reunite with his wife Tina, becoming a friend and ally to Flash.
