Doctor Polaris

Neal Emerson was a gifted scientist who performed many experiments with magnetism, believing he could control it with his mind. He also suffered from split personality disorder. Believing he had absorbed too much magnetism, he donned a costume and called himself Doctor Polaris and approached Green Lantern at a charity event to get him to use his power ring to help him. Somehow this caused the evil part of his nature to come out and the villainous Doctor Polaris was born. Much later, Doctor Polaris made a deal with Neron, handing over Emerson's soul in exchange for more powerful magnetic powers. He was a recurrent enemy of Green Lantern. He apparently died in a battle with the Human Bomb.
