Alex Elder

• Also known as

Alex Elder gets attacked by a band of vampires and bitten while out one night with his friends. The rest of his group is killed, but Alex is saved by Ekimus the Grigori, an ancient father of vampires who turns Alex and thus allows him to realize his destiny as The Chosen One. As The Chosen One, Ekimus believes that Alex will help him get rid of the vampires, which Ekimus brought into being by mating with Lilith. Alex does not accept his destiny, but he has powers other vampires do not because his sire was the father of vampires. Unlike others, Alex becomes a fire caster, a type of vampire power which generally only comes with special training. He has powers of levitation and unassisted flight. He is able to live through viewing the light of heaven with only mild side effects where most vampires disintegrate. Alex refuses to drain humans of their blood to live, so he survives draining the blood of animals and birds in addition to plasma from blood banks, which he doesn't enjoy as much, but will tolerate.
