Ekimus

• Also known as

Ekimus is a Grigori, an ancient race, who were ignored by God because they lacked souls. Lucifer convinces the Grigori to join his cause rebelling against God. God punishes the Grigori by having them guard the Tree of Life, where they must survive on blood to remain immortal. It is here that Ekimus comes across Lilith, the two mate, and Ekimus passes God's curse down to their offspring's line, creating the vampire race. Ekimus realizes what he has done, and seeks to undo the damage he did to the world in bringing vampires into it. When he comes across the Jelly Bats gang feeding on fresh victims, he rescues the sole survivor, Alex Elder, and takes him under his wing as the Chosen One, training him to be mankind's savior from vampires.
