The sorcerer later to be known as the Gray Man, was rewarded by the Lords of Order, who granted him immortality as well as the ability to collect dream energy from those who were about to die. Not satisfied, he started absorbing dream energy from the living, causing him to be stopped by Dr. Fate and the Justice League. He was soon removed from existence by the Lords of Order.
