Asano Nitobe, martial arts master and last-known practitioner of the mystical art of Ninjutso, was an ally of Paul Kirk, Manhunter, and was instrumental in taking down the Council, a would-be world-dominating organization. Later, partnering with Interpol agent Christine St. Clair, they dedicated themselves to eliminating Manhunter's many clones.
