Catman

DC, Thomas Blake

  • Also known as Cat-Man

Thomas Blake is a former wealthy socialite who trained himself to hunt big cats. He was inspired by those experiences and retired criminal, Catwoman, to become Cat-Man (later known as Catman), a super-villain. Cat-Man became less a villain and more a hero as his character developed, but his shifting morals leave him an anti-hero. Cat-Man's origin stayed mostly the same post-Crisis with the exception of his father having left his mother to raise him alone in his childhood, leading his overworked mother to abuse her son verbally and physically, causing Blake to develop a hatred for women and an deeply ingrained belief that he is evil. He is an on-and-off member of the Secret Six. Thomas Blake possesses genius-level intellect, hunting skills, hand-to-hand combat skills, he is athletic, and proficient with weaponry. In addition, the suit he wears allows him to sense danger before it occurs and it provides him resurrection for up to nine lives. Like Batman, his nemesis, he drives a Catmobile and uses Catarangs.
