Ultraman is a giant Ultra Warrior from Nebula M78. While chasing the space monster Bemular, Ultraman accidentally collides with an SSSP (Science Special Search Party) aircraft, killing its pilot, Shin Hayata. Feeling guilt for causing the death of an innocent, Ultraman revives Hayata by merging their bodies together. He gives Hayata the Beta Capsule, which enables him to transform into Ultraman whenever the Earth is threatened.
