Mainstream DC Universe: John Stewart was a Green Lantern when he ascended to a more powerful state of being. He renamed himself the Emerald Knight. Post-Crisis Earth 3: Emerald Knight / Power Ring (John Stewart) is the evil counterpart of Green Lantern (John Stewart). He was a member of The Emerald Knights, an intergalactic organization run by the Overlords of Oa, as well as a member of the Crime Syndicate.
