Queen Maeve

Queen Maeve is a secondary antagonist of the graphic novel *Hound* by Paul J. Bolger and Barry Devlin. She is the warrior queen of Connact and the old enemy of King Connor. Her advisor, Calatin, takes advantage of her sense of pride to manipulate her into waging war against Ulla. Ten years after the duel between Cú Cullan and Ferdia, she leads a surprise attack on Cú Cullan but agrees to end fighting when Cú Cullan spares her and exposes the true enemy to the warriors of Ulla. Maeve is based on Medb in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology. Her character design is inspired by and modeled after Nicola Cullen (née Bouchier).
