Prince Alil

Prince Alil is a minor character in the graphic novel *Hound* by Paul J. Bolger and Barry Devlin. He is in an open marriage with Queen Maeve; Ferdia mentions to Cú Cullan while on the Isle of Sky that she's taken him as a lover. Led by the schemes of Maeve's advisor, Calatin, Maeve competes against him in wealth and finds out that they are equal except for his ownership of the prize bull Whitehorn; it leads to the invasion of Ulla by Connact halfway through the story. Based on Ailill mac Máta in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology.
