The Purple Tiger, whose real name is unchronicled, was the leader of an eponymously named gang. According to his daughter, Myrna, the Purple Tiger was the victim of an accident years ago that "affected his mind" causing him to become a criminal. After radio-squad officer Sandy Kean was captured by the Purple Tiger and left to die, Kean was saved by Myrna, allowing him to thwart the Purple Tiger and his gang, ostensibly giving Myrna the opportunity to help get the Purple Tiger the mental health help he needed.
