Mlle. Marie was sent to the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud to assassinate the German officer, Colonel Burkel, known as the Butcher of Fontevraud. She was captured by German soldiers and executed by firing squad on October 7, 1944. Mlle. Marie was succeeded by Sabine Roth, who completed her mission.
