En conflit avec son employeur à propos de la propriété de l'invention, il a forgé l'identité du vilain Chemistro en utilisant son pistolet comme une arme. S'étant mutilé dans le combat contre Cage, il a été incarcéré et a abandonné la carrière de criminel. Il a intégré l'entreprise Stark Prosthetics à Denver, Colorado en tant que chercheur scientifique et directeur de la recherche et du développement.
