In the films of the Marx Brothers, Harpo Marx is characterized by the fact that he is silent. He plays the harp and is almost continuously dressed in a trench-coat and topped with a curly blonde wig as well as a top hat. His character, endearing and funny, is the most comic of the four because he constantly acts like a child with his gray coat filled with objects as unusual as each other.
