Original origin story: Christopher KL was the first baby to be born in space, named after Christopher Columbus by his parents. Upon finishing his course at the space-academy with a 99 percent perfect rating, his surname was amended to KL99. He went on to discover and map more new worlds than anyone in history. Revised origin story: Christopher Columbus Ambler was the first baby to be born in space. On his eighth birthday, he was abducted by aliens . Nine years later, the alien ship returned, with Chris on board. Earth's space force rescued Chris and destroyed the alien ship. Chris then explained that the aliens, known as the K'l, were the last 98 representatives of a dying race. They needed someone young to whom they would bequeath all the knowledge of their ruined world. His mentors were wiped out before his training was complete. He now calls himself Chris KL-99, in honor of the last 98 K'l.
