Prometheus is the son of Iapetus the Titan and Clymene (or Asia), an Oceanid. Brother of Atlas, Epimetheus, and Menoetius. He defied the Olympian gods by taking fire from them and giving it to mankind. Zeus condemned Prometheus to eternal torment for his transgression.
