The hero known as Immortal Man-in-Darkness is secretly a squadron of pilots. Each flight aboard The Dragonwing, a living fighter plane, takes a year off the pilot's lifespan. The Chinese military hides this information from the public by portraying Immortal Man-in-Darkness as a single person. Captain Han was preceded by three unnamed pilots, and was succeeded by First Lt. Chen Nuo. Han served for only 4 months as Immortal Man-in-Darkness before he died.
