Jamal Peoples, also called Maul and Hephaestus, is a former member of the Initiative’s California team The Order. He was one of the early engineered heroes given powers for a year and participated in the team’s missions, including a major battle in New York. Peoples was dismissed from The Order for breaking the team’s morals clause by drinking publicly with teammates. After being depowered, he later allied with antagonists aiming to undermine the team he once served.
