In the mid 21st century, Aarn Munro's parents were among the crew of the first rocket ship to reach the surface of Jupiter. Their rocket fuel was not sufficient to allow them to lift off of the planet, so they were stranded there for 22 years until they were rescued. Aarn had been born a few years after the group had arrived. His body grew to compensate for Jupiter's greater gravity. As an adult, he stood 5 feet 7 inches in height, but he was nearly 5 feet in circumference. His arms and legs stuck out at peculiar angles, and they seemed misshapen. On Earth, Aarn weighed nearly 350 pounds. He developed such strength as no Earthman had ever dreamed of. More than once, he had proved his ability to lift and walk off with a ton and a half of lead. Aarn would soon prove to be a genius physicist, who contributed greatly to the advancements of interplanetary transportation.
