Tony Alamo, born Bernie Lazar Hoffman, was an American evangelist and founder of the Alamo Christian Foundation. Later exposed as a cult leader, he was convicted of multiple child sex crimes and died in federal prison after receiving a 175-year sentence in 2009 for abuse convictions.
