Olivier Coipel

Olivier Coipel is a French comic book artist. Olivier Coipel started as a movie animator, working as an assistant on Balto and then The Prince of Egypt, then as a full animator at The Road to El Dorado. Coipel came to prominence as the artist of the Legion of Super-Heroes during the tenure of writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning,including [Legion Lost](app://series/11869) and [The Legion](app://series/7789). From 2005 on, he worked at Marvel, starting with [House of M](app://series/13077) with writer Brian Michael Bendis. Coipel then became the artist on a new [Thor](app://series/33987) with writer J. Michael Straczynski. In 2009 he worked on the event series [Siege](app://series/41474) and returning to Thor in 2011, illustrating the first arc on Matt Fraction's [The Mighty Thor](app://series/57806). Again on Thor Coipel and writer Jason Aaron started the series [The Unworthy Thor](app://series/108756). At Image, he was the artist on the first [The Magic Order](app://series/125925) series by writer Mark Millar. Coipel also provided [covers for many issues](https://www.comics.org/creator/14048/covers/?language=25), in particular in recent years.
