Carry Brugman

  • Born 1947-08-22

Younger brother to Gideon Brugman, Carry also tried his hand at becoming a professional artist. After a false start (they jointly produced an album that was never published because the publisher declared bankruptcy), he was employed by the Marten Toonder studio's (1969-1970) and then publisher Oberon. For the latter, he produced Joris Jofel (1971-1974), Professor Breinbreier (1974-1975), and his biggest success, The Partners (1976-1984, 2009-2014). From the early nineties until 2007, he produced many Disney stories, as well as stories for magazines such as Tina and Samsam. He officially retired in 2014.
