Carlos Gómez

Carlos E. Gómez is an Argentine animator, illustrator, and cartoonist. Between 1982 and 1984 he worked as an assistant to the painter-draftsman Víctor Hugo Arias for Eura Editoriale SpA (Italy). Between 1984 and 1986 he made a daily strip of science fiction comics for the newspaper "Córdoba" (The Odyssey of Captain Ganímedes) with his own scripts. Between 1986 and 1987 he was an assistant to the cartoonist Horacio Lalia for Eura Editoriale SpA. Between 1986 and 1995 he worked as an assistant to the cartoonist Angel Alberto "Lito" Fernández for Eura Editoriale SpA and Editorial Columba (Argentina.). In 1987 he did graphic advertising work for the newspaper "La voz fueguina" from the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego and the strip with an ecological focus: Fringilo and the pigeon asked for a Fuegian magazine. Between 1989 and 1999 he made the series Kent and Capellán for Editorial Columba together with the screenwriter Héctor Ricardo Ferrari, along with some miniseries and individual stories. Since 1995 he replaced Alberto Salinas in the drawing of the Dago series with scripts by the Paraguayan writer Robin Wood for Eura editoriale (Italy). In 1999 he received the Yellow Kid Award for foreign cartoonist (XXII Salone Internazionale dei Comics, from the Film di Animazione e dell'Illustrazione de Roma, Rome, Italy). In 2011 Sergio Bonelli Editore (Italy) published a 220-page special of the mythical character Tex drawn by Gómez titled Verso l’Oregon with a script by Giannfranco Manfredi; and a new Italian edition was published by Rizzoli Lizard in 2014. In 2012 Delcourt editions from France published the first volume of the Alienor. Comic book written by Simona Mogavino and Arnaud Delalande, colored by Claudia Chec, with storyboard by Erwan Le Saëc and drawings by Gómez. In 2013, this editorial published the second volume of Alienor, and the third volume arrived in 2014, both colored by José Luis Rio and with storyboard and drawings by Gómez.
