Cecil Castellucci

Cecil Castellucci is an American-born Canadian young adult novelist and comic author. Castellucci wrote the inaugural graphic novel [The Plain Janes #[nn] ([July] 2007)](app://issue/358583) for DC's Minx imprint, it was illustrated by [Jim Rugg](app://creator/16123). It was followed by the sequel [Janes in Love #[nn] ([November] 2008)](app://issue/542304), with Rugg again serving as artist. In October 2016, [Shade, the Changing Girl](app://series/107873) was released as part of DC's new imprint Young Animal with artist [Marley Zarcone](app://creator/22285), followed by [Shade, the Changing Woman](app://series/122685). The graphic novel [Soupy Leaves Home #[nn] (2021)](app://issue/2250959), about a train-hopping runaway in 1932, was published by Dark Horse in April 2017. Between 2019 and 2020, she has written graphic novel adaptations of Disney animated films including [Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs](app://series/147799), [The Little Mermaid](app://series/151506), and [Disney Frozen #[nn] (March 2020)](app://issue/2094777). She was born in New York to French-Canadian parents and has dual American/Canadian citizenship.
