Émile Bravo

Émile Bravo is a French comics artist. After his studies, he started working for the magazine Marie-France and as an illustrator, before publishing his first comic book in 1990. It was written by Jean Regnaud, with whom he would collaborate on multiple occasions over the next decades. In 1992, he became a member of the "Atelier Nawak" (later the Atelier des Vosges) and their publishing branch L'Association. At Atelier Nawak, he began together with Jean Regnaud his first long-term project: the three-volume miniseries Les véritables aventures d’Aleksis Strogonov, which begins in 1919 in Eastern Europe amid the turmoil of the Bolshevik Revolution. With his first self-written series, Une épatante aventure de Jules he won the Prix René Goscinny in 2002. Since then he worked on special issues of Spirou, in particular the four album series Spirou ou l’espoir malgré tout from 2018 to 2022, which tells the story of Spirou during the German occupation of Belgium in World War II.
