Carlos Casalla

Carlos Casalla attended the National Academy of Fine Arts and was part of the painters group with Lino Eneas Spilimbergo. He learned the comics profession from José Luis Salinas. He joined the publishing house Columba and created 'Álamo Jim'. He also worked with Robin Wood on 'El Cosaco' and drew 'Perdido Joe, Memorias de un Porteño Viejo y Chaco' in magazines such as D'Artagnan, El Tony and Nippur Magnum. He additionally contributed to Misterix of the publishing house Editorial Frontera. In 1954 he created the series El Cabo Savino, which he would go on to draw for another record setting 6 decades. In 2009 he was named Illustrious Citizen by the Legislature of the Province of Río Negro in recognition of his work aimed at improving the quality of life of their peers, of institutions and their communities.
