Alfredo de Elías

Alfredo Elías published his early comics in magazines from Editorial Valenciana, such as *Jaimito* and *Roberto Alcázar y Pedrín Extra*, in the 1960s. In these publications, he drew a series of jungle-themed short stories titled *Simba*, among other stories on a variety of subjects. His work also appeared in Atletas, published by Editorial Maga. In the 1970s, he collaborated on an adaptation of the Bible published by Sedmay, and he wrote and drew horror stories for Valenciana's *S.O.S.* magazine. Elías also entered the international market, drawing war stories for the United Kingdom, and romance and fantasy stories for Italy. He even collaborated on US comic books published by Charlton. In addition, he participated in a series of comics featuring Tarzan, which was produced through the Selecciones Ilustradas agency, and in another series featuring Tumac, which was launched by the Swedish publisher company Semic Press. Tumac was an Indian boy whose adventures took place in South American jungles. Alfredo Elías used to team up with fellow artist Demetrio Sánchez on both the *Tarzan* and *Tumac* series. Alfredo Elías Mondeja subsequently developed a successful career in law, and has written several books on jurisprudence. He has also published fiction novels, and books for learning painting and illustration. He has exhibited his paintings in galleries in various countries.
