Ron Spencer
Active from the 1960s to the late 1980s. Took over the strip "Little Plum" in The Beano from Leo Baxendale - whose style he copied - in 1962 (after a few fill-in strips by Robert Nixon) and drew it until 1986 when the strip was discontinued. He also drew "Baby Face Finlayson". "The Fix-It Twins ", "Pepper the Pony and Lucinda ", "Proctor Doolittle " and "The Nibblers" in The Beano. For The Dandy he drew "Dinah Mite", "Dinah Mo", "Whacko!", "Robin Hood's Schooldays", "Peter's Pocket Grandpa ", "The Burrd" and "Tumba and Rumba - the Mimicking Elephants" He should not be confused with the American trading card artist (born Aurora, Nebraska early 1960s, active 1993 on) of the same name.
