Chris van Abkoude

Van Abkoude was a writer, children's entertainer and teacher. He was born in The Netherlands, where he was the acclaimed writer of the "Kruimeltje" and "Pietje Bell" youth novels. He later emigrated to the United States, where he legally changed his name to the more pronounceable "Charles Winters". Several of his novels were adapted into comic book form.
