Floyd Norman

Floyd E. Norman (born June 22, 1935) is an American animator, writer, and comic book artist.  Norman had his start as an assistant to Katy Keene comic book artist Bill Woggon. From the late 1950s till the early-1960s he worked as an animator at Disney, interrupted briefly by a stint in the army. He was promoted to the story department in the mid-1960s, then left to form his own studio following Disney's death. In the 1980s he worked as a writer in the comic strip department at Disney and was the last scripter for the Mickey Mouse comic strip before it was discontinued. He has worked in television and film animation into the 21st century, and has written several books on animation. He is a champion of African American education and history.
