John Hilkert

Born in Ohio. Lived in Toronto and worked for Canadian pulp magazines. Some of his pulp covers were contracted as recreations of covers Norm Saunders had produced in the U.S.A. He returned to Ohio in June of 1943 for induction into the U.S. Army, serving as a psychological warfare artist in Europe. Signed his comic work "John G. Hilkert," and his pulp work after returning from the war "John K. Hilkert."
