Strauss Engraving Company

Strauss Engraving Company (also known as Photochrome) was the company used by DC starting sometime around 1937 and ending in about 1948 to do the coloring, color separations, Ben-Day shading, and other related coloring work for the publisher. When DC decided to open its own coloring department around 1948, they hired former Strauss Engraving Company employees to do the coloring work for the company.
