George Hecht

Hecht was the President and Publisher of The Parents' Institute, Inc., the parent company of Parents' Magazine Press, which published comics like True Comics, Calling All Girls, and Calling All Boys as well as slick magazines and digests like Parents' Magazine, Children's Digest, and Humpty Dumpty. Parents' Magazine was founded in 1926 and True Comics began in 1941. Hecht last published a comic book, True Comics, in 1950, however cartoons and comic stories would regularly appear in many of his magazines. Parents' Magazine was sold to another publisher in 1978. Hecht was the editor and complied cartoons for the book, The War in Cartoons (E. F. Dutton & Company, 1919 series) and edited the publication Better Times magazine from 1919 to 1931. He also wrote articles for Cartoons Magazine (H. H. Windsor, 1913 series).
