DC Thomson's most prolific romance artist joined the workforce of Romeo from its first issue and was with it to the end in 1974, subsequently working for the company for another twenty-two years. Following Romeo's cancellation in 1974 he spread out across the company's various girls' comics including Diana, Jackie, Blue Jeans, Star Love, Debbie, Emma and Spellbound. From the '80s until his retirement in 1996 Lee was a cornerstone of Thomson's girl's comics appearing in countless issues of Bunty, Judy, Star Love and finally Mandy & Judy. Like most artists at the company he spent his entire career without a credit -- never signing his name, giving an interview or attending a convention.
