Novelist, publicist and business man, who wrote his fiction and non-fiction in various languages, notably Dutch, English and German. He traveled the world extensively and wrote about many of the people and situations he encountered. Many of his writings were filmed and/or adapted into television series, most notably his detective series "Grijpstra en De Gier". Some of his writings were adapted into comics. He spent his later years in a remote region of Maine.
