Jim Starlin

Jim Starlin is an American comics artist and writer. Beginning his career in the early 1970s, he is best known for space opera stories, for revamping the Marvel characters Captain Marvel and Warlock, and for creating or co-creating the Marvel characters [Thanos](app://character/5680), , [Gamora](app://character/5750), and [Shang-Chi](app://character/6401). Starlin wrote the miniseries [The Infinity Gauntlet](app://series/4245) and its many sequels including [The Infinity War](app://series/4458) and [Infinity Crusade](app://series/4703), all detailing Thanos's pursuit of the Infinity Gems and his conflict with the heroes of the Marvel Universe. For DC, he drew many iconic characters, including [Darkseid](app://character/15699), and wrote the seminal storyline A Death in the Family which featured the death of [Jason Todd](app://character/146) , the second [Robin](app://character/13), during his run on [Batman](app://series/141). For the imprint, he created his own feature, Dreadstar.
