Originaire de Charente-Maritime, Didier Georget a étudié aux Beaux-Arts d'Angoulême. Il se spécialisa dans l'illustration à Rennes. À Paris, il commença à travailler dans la publicité avant de se lancer dans l'édition jeunesse et les livres scolaires, notamment chez Hatier ou Milan. Attiré par la bande-dessinée, Didier Georget participa à des publications de l'éditeur Casterman, puis, en collaboration avec un scénariste, il publia dans des magazines comme Corto ou À Suivre. Début 2000, il suivit le chantier de construction d’une réplique de l'Hermione, à Rochefort. Il a produit deux bandes dessinées pédagogiques ainsi que les panneaux pédagogiques qui jalonnent le parcours de découverte du chantier.
