Dick Kirby

Dick Kirby was the second artist to draw Strange as It Seems. When creator John Hix died on June 6, 1944, his brother Ernest continued writing the series and Kirby starting drawing the daily on July 31, 1944 and the Sunday strip on August 13, 1944. He was followed by Doug Heyes from June 17, 1946, but Kirby returned to the daily strip from July 5, 1948 to January 15, 1949, and the Sunday from August 1, 1948 to January 10, 1949. Elsie Hix took over the writing in 1948.
