Matt Wagner

Matt Wagner is an American comics artist and writer who is best known as the creator of the series Mage and Grendel. Matt Wagner's first published comic book work was [Primer #2 ([December] 1982)](app://issue/248359), which was the first appearance of Grendel. In addition to his creator-owned series Mage and Grendel, he has worked on comics featuring Batman as well as such titles as [Sandman Mystery Theatre](app://series/4657), largely co-written with [Steven T. Seagle](app://creator/12525) and drawn by [Guy Davis](app://creator/17413) . He wrote and drew [Batman / Superman / Wonder Woman: Trinity](app://series/11870), a limited series featuring DC's three major heroes. He followed it with [Batman: The Monster Men](app://series/17488) and [Batman: The Mad Monk](app://series/19151). His other projects include [Madame Xanadu](app://series/31172) for Vertigo, with artist [Amy Reeder](app://creator/21829). He has produced numerous comics covers, including painted ones for [Green Arrow](app://series/9846). Wagner has written several Green Hornet limited series and [Zorro](app://series/29709) for Dynamite Entertainment.
