Valérie Lemaire

Valérie Lemaire studied law, practiced as a lawyer, and traveled extensively, from Moscow to Baku and Addis Ababa, before becoming a parliamentary assistant and writing her first graphic novel script, Les Quasi (under the pseudonym VaL, published by Glénat), with illustrations by Olivier Neuray. Drawing on the deep connections forged during her travels, she decided to depict the tragic fate of Hitler's Cossacks before continuing with Les Cinq de Cambridge (The Cambridge Five).
