Synopsis

Margaret was English, but had married an American pilot during World War II and gone to live in the states. When the pilot was killed in action, she was left alone with her young son, Dick. Just before Christmas in 1947, a local club owner takes an interest in her and her son when he sees the boy looking at an electric train in a big store in New York. Margaret starts to fall for the man, but discovers his club runs an illegal gambling operation.
