Synopsis

Julia arrives at Redmaynes Manor on the rocky Cornish coast to live with her uncle after her mother's death. Although Sir Kenneth offers her shelter, he makes it clear that she is to stay out of his way. She learns her room overlooks Smugglers' Bay where many ships have met their end on the rocks where the Wreckers lure them by lighting flares before plundering them. While riding one day, her horse bolts and she is rescued by a man who owns the neighboring farm. But Dick and her uncle are enemies, and her uncle claims he is the leader of the Wreckers.
