Synopsis

Helen, a shy person with no family or friends, accepts a job as a secretary in Devon. Her new boss says he wants to get his sister away from the city. He soon declares his love for Helen, but his real plan is to drug her with his sister's ring on her finger and set fire to the house so that he can collect the insurance when it appears his sister has died in the fire. That way his sister and he can continue living it up in some other part of England with the insurance money.
