Synopsis

To fulfill her ailing mother's wish to visit her uncle in Jamaica, Marion agrees to marry a man twice her age. He knows she doesn't love him, but after the wedding his attitude changes and he becomes more possessive. He tries to draw her to him in the car, but she pushes him away. He loses control and the car skids into a wall. She recovers quickly, but John remains in a coma. To stay near the hospital, she gets a job as an assistant stage manager at a local repertory theatre. She and a young writer fall in love, but she can't tell him why they can never be together.
